Happy New Year Family! I pray that all of you had a wonderfully blessed Holiday Season! 2010 will bring some changes to "SistahSpeak", but not in any way that will affect the care and thought we take in bringing you the best open mic event in the LOU. Firstly, we proudly present the start of a new tradition, "SistahSpeak Kids!"-an open mic segment dedicated to the talents of our children, ages 8-18 years. On Sunday, January 17 at Cicero's, doors will open @4:30pm, show @5-6:30pm; cover: adults-$5 (with children-$4), kids-$2.50. To ensure that we have enough time to give everyone an opportunity on the mic, please sign up in advance via email (sistahspeak@proudflower.com).
In celebration of ProudFlower's new management of SistahSpeak, immediately following the 'Adult' SistahSpeak (Cicero's-doors 7:30p, show 8p, $5 cover) there will be an after party at the 609 Lounge (NW corner of Delmar & Eastgate). This first SistahSpeak of 2010 is ALL ABOUT YOU! Our feature and special guests for the evening are those talented people that fill the seats each month and make us the best at what we do-YOU.
